A Grade II Listed Holiday Cottage Remodel

Our second commission by Ombler Williams Property Ltd, Squirrel Cottage follows on from the success of 49 Wexham Street, and is just a stones’ throw away in the heart of Beaumaris. This grade II listed cottage underwent a full garden and interior remodel with a new side return extension. The previous owner of the cottage was a squirrel fan, hence the name. We worked with squirrel-ly russet reds and a cosy warm palette of earthy hues alongside beautiful heritage woodland themed patterns. The garden was completely remodelled and rebuilt to become a beautiful walled retreat with areas to eat, relax, sit and even shower in, designed with our regular collaborators – garden designers Laura Woods and Lily Blythe. A perfect cottage sleeping 8 with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms available at Boltholes…

We have engaged Mairead & Co Interiors on two projects to date: 49 Wexham Street and Squirrel Cottage, both in Beaumaris.

We purchased both properties through our property company, Ombler Williams Properties Ltd, with the aim of converting them into two exceptional holiday lets in Beaumaris.

Our vision was to give each property a genuine “wow” factor, and from our very first meeting, Mairead and Laura understood the brief and delivered on it.

They introduced ideas and materials that we would never have considered ourselves, bringing everything together to create two outstanding properties that we are very proud to include in our portfolio.

The outdoor spaces at both properties have also been completely renovated and landscaped. Although each has its own distinct character, both complement the interiors beautifully and create a natural flow into the gardens.

We would particularly like to thank Laura and Lily for their contribution to this work.

Mairead draws on the expertise of her wider team to translate the client’s brief into reality.

Coming from a contracting background ourselves, we also greatly appreciated the team’s understanding of the practical challenges that renovation projects can present. They worked collaboratively with us to find effective solutions without compromising the quality of the finish or the integrity of either design.

We would have no hesitation in working with Mairead and her team again, and we look forward to beginning our next project together.
