Mairead Turner

Mairead is the founder and creative director of Mairead & Co Interiors, an experienced interior designer and stylist whose work and home have been featured in The Observer, Homes & Antiques and Ideal Home.

Based in Bangor, she launched the studio in 2019, inspired by a deep love of renovation and the transformation she undertook on her own Victorian home. What began as helping friends with their interiors quickly evolved into a growing design studio. Over the past seven years, the business has expanded alongside her expertise, delivering a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and award-winning holiday home projects across North Wales.

Mairead’s love of spaces that move well extends beyond interior design. She has a dedicated Ashtanga yoga practice and is fascinated by flow, structure and rhythm. Principles that quietly inform both her design approach and her life outside the studio.

In a previous chapter of her career, Mairead worked as a Producer in contemporary dance for over twenty years, a creative foundation that continues to shape her understanding of space, movement and storytelling. And as if that weren’t enough, she is now having opera lessons – clearly raising the cultural bar for the rest of the team. Between Natalie’s operatic background and Lauren’s proudly terrible singing, the studio soundtrack is, at the very least, varied.
