LUXURY HOME INTERIOR DESIGN
Based in Wales, interior designer Mairead has transformed homes across the UK, working closely with clients to understand the way they live and what they want their kitchen, bedroom, office or bathroom to feel like and say about them. She specialises in homes that have a traditional feel with bold uses of colour and pattern but isn't averse to a bit of minimalism where specified!
Passionate about period properties, Mairead works with a range of clients around the coastal areas of Abersoch and Rhosneigr, using design techniques that point to the original features of the building, and the surrounding natural beauty.
Her love of colours, patterns and textures work well with the tastes of the homeowners she collaborates with. From high-end holiday retreats to family homes, your private space should reflect who you are, whether you have a growing family, or want an entertainment space to host friends and family.
ARTS AND CRAFTS HOME, ANGLESEY
A young couple have lovingly restored the interior of the childhood home of renowned artist Kyffin Williams into a perfect retreat for them and their new family, thanks to Mairead’s design expertise.
Mairead worked with the couple to advise on the initial plans to create a large open plan kitchen diner and to design the ground floor. This design paid particular attention to the period property's Arts and Crafts heritage and so using the patterns of William Morris was a obvious choice but hopefully the results are anything but.
CALM AND MUTED
This kitchen interior design project was all about layering textures and making the most of this beautiful old-fashioned farmhouse in the heart of Anglesey, not far from Abersoch. A subtle and refreshing coastal feel is seen in the use of blues, whites and neutral colours. The layout is simple and functional.
A DESIGNERS HOUSE
Mairead's own home is a relaxed space showing her love of an eclectic mix of retro, mid-century and antique furniture mixed with industrial touches. As this cottage renovation has developed over time, there have been many happy experiments with colour, materials and pattern alongside a developing love of wallpaper.
Mairead's living room, bedrooms and kitchen have been featured in the Observer Magazine, March 21 & Homes and Antiques, Nov 21 issue, as well as Life in North Wales Magazine, do go to the Press page to see the coverage.
FAMILY NEW BUILD
A modern expression on this original cottage created the space needed for busy family life and a complete remodel. Mairead worked with the owners to design a warm and practical space for a growing family and dog in this home near Rhosneigr.
From the kitchen to the bathroom, each room exudes character through the balance of simple, clean lines and bold patterns.
